Girls' Weekend

Last weekend, Karson and I shared a special treat that helped break up the monotony of missing Keith...VISITORS!! Grandma Joanne and Cousin Alex came out from MA for the long weekend. We miss our MA family so much and are so happy whenever anyone can come out for a visit. Last time Grandma was here, she missed the trip to Fisherman's Wharf in SF due to a nasty stomach bug, and this was Alex's first time in CA so we touristed it up for them both!! The sun was out for the entire five days of their visit, giving them a nice break from the single-digit weather back home.

A tea party set for at princess at the Crown and Crumpet in Ghirardelli Square. This was my favorite outing of the visit! I see the making of a tradition! Tea, anyone?

Jo and Alex were lucky to be around for the celebration of Zulu's sixth birthday! Apparently six-year-old Rhodesian Ridgebacks wear pink cowgirl hats?

The grand opening of Karson's first art gallery. She, Grandma, and Alex sat at a table outside the dog park (notice I'm nowhere to be found? SOMEONE had to watch the dog)and displayed Karson's most recent paintings. Although they were a lot of work, she was willing to part with them for some cashola. Sold out - 8 paintings in 40 minutes = $28 Way to go kid!

Missing Dad...

Well, Keith is spending the month of January in DC for work and Karson and I are on our own. We've made it through week one with a semi-clean house and no major catastrophes, just missing our dad. Next month we celebrate our 8th wedding anniversary, and even though we have spent many months apart over those eight years I always miss him when he's gone.
